Each week, I will post questions, thoughts and links for you to read and make comments about. Each student can respond to a minimum of twice weekly. This can be counted as extra credit. Let me know if you have any questions about the current events blog. This can be done during our class time or you can work from home. As we explore many different aspects of reading, writing, and current events, I think you will enjoy reading a variety of articles.
I remember the first day of band camp. No one knew how to march. So what I am saying is that the band is really improving. It is becoming better no dought about it. even our performances are becoming better, I think our band is great.
This is so true. Everyone thinks that band is so easy because all you have to do is play an instrument. But that isnt just it, we have to learned how to march, memorize music, memorize spots, and be able to play and march at the same time. It is alot of work and you have to do it right or the whole band messes up. One persons mistake means the whole band made a mistake because we are a team. I think that this years band season will be great and we will all do good!
I remember the first day of band camp in July. I didnt know a thing about forward/backward marching, slides, and things like, 'to the ready' and 'set'. It is now the month of September, and we are really close to our first competition!!! Mr. Thomas is an excellent band director, and he's making us strive past our expectations. Some people may call us 'geeks' and they may say marching band is 'easy', but it's not. You have to learn alot of things, you have to focus the whole time, and you have to do your best on performances. You have to pretend like we're already doing the first competition. Like Mr. Thomas said, "It's not what, it's HOW" I am so proud to be a marching band student, and I personally think we have done our best these past couple of months. Way to go Rebel Regiment!!!! Let's keep up the good work:)
