Each week, I will post questions, thoughts and links for you to read and make comments about. Each student can respond to a minimum of twice weekly. This can be counted as extra credit. Let me know if you have any questions about the current events blog. This can be done during our class time or you can work from home. As we explore many different aspects of reading, writing, and current events, I think you will enjoy reading a variety of articles.

Book recommendation- Core 2 Forged By Fire

I highly recommend the book Forged By Fire. The book Forged By Fire is when a three year old boy named gerald, is sent to live with his Aunt Queen, while him mom is in prison. Gerald had a rough life with his mom but he loved living with his Aunt Queen. Geralds mom got out of prison eventualy. Aunt Queen dies and Gerald is sent to live with him mom, step father, and sister that he eventualy found out about. His step father abuses him and his little sister Angle. What will Gerald do? Read Forged By Fire to find out!
Forged by fire is great for you if you like a book about tragic. Some of the stuff inside of this book makes me say oh wow that's harsh. I never really thought how it would feel to live in the situation these charaters were in, and I hope I never have to go through that. Also I feel terrible for Gerald losting a friend has to be hard, but he was strong so I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have!
I recommend forged By Fire because it is a great book about Gerald, his sister Angel, mom Monique, and the horrible abusing step father Jordan. You never will know what is going to happen next in the story. As Gerald becomes a basketball star and Angel becomes a graceful ballet dancer, Thier lives are altered by abuse,hate,and secrets.
The book "Foreged by fire" is a exellent book, the exitement and all emotions are in this book. Some parts are joyful while some are sympothetic and depressing while some are scary. I woul drecomend this book to any of mty friends(If they like to read). But I loved this book and could read it over and over.

In some ways you could learn what to look out for when there are men around you. I think that the book should of been written from Angel's point of view that way it would appeal to teenage girls more. I think that any teen would like it though because it shows how some people have to go through a rough life with bad people. Maybe you see someone at school who is hurt or looks like their scared, while from this book you could relize you just need to go talk to them and see what going on. You could say one thing to someone and it could change their life and maybe even save their life.
This book was about a boy, Gerald, who grew up with a mom, step dad, and a little sister. The step dad, Jordan, would always try to beat Gerald and hurt him anyway possible when he was drunk, high, or just wanted to get his anger out or just hit someone. Geralds little sister, Angel, had to go through alot also. Jordan would always try to touch her and molest her. Monique, the mom, was always on pills or getting drunk or high just like Jordan does. When a terrible car accident happens to one of Geralds best friends, his family and him also realize what its like to actually love and care for someone. Finally, everything settles down, but then heats right back up. Gerald had to live a terrible life.
I recommened the book Forged By Fire. Becaues it is such a great book. Forged By fire is a great book for any age. If you have not read it I highy recommed you reading it! I recommend the book, Forged By Fire, to everyone, mainly teenagers and teenage girls. This book include a lot of sad events, but they all lead to an important lesson in life. It might be a little inappropriate to some people who are "soft" but it contains real life situations. It talks about a boy named Gerald, who at the beggining of the book, lived with his Aunt Queen while his mom is in prison. When the mom gets out, she comes to his birthday, where he meets his little sister, Angel, and his stepdad, Jordan. The same day, something happens to Aunt Queen which causes him to move in with his mom, stepdad, and stepsister. The days there are rough, and he discovers many new things about his stepdad. He learns how to defend himself, and then, something tragic happens. It leads to many lessons, and it's the second book in a trilogy. I suggest/recommend everyone to read it. You'll be in tears when you do read it. It's a really good book, and you won't regret reading it.

forged by fire is a great book because its about a guy named gerald and he was young when his mom left him, so he had to go and live with his aunt (aunt queen). years later monique (geralds' mom) came back,it was right on geralds birthday, and i guess he didnt like the idea of her being back. monique asked him if he wanted to go live with her,angel(half sister) and jordan (step dad). he didnt want to at first but he had to later because aunt queen died of a heart atack.:( it was a sad moment for gearld because she was like his mom and treated him very nice. so after he went to live with them and met angel (his half sister). nad he started to notice that jordan had something going on. angel later on told him that he made her play touchy feeling games. wich she didnt like. :* gerald told robs dad and jordan whent to jail...whant to know more?? well read the book to find out what happens with gerald,monique and jordan... :)

She told him the man was his step dad Jordan and the little girl was his sister Angel. Jordan and Monique left and Anut Queen die when Gerald and Angel went outside she had a heart attack. Gerald when to live with them and it was horrible.One day Gerald walked in and saw Angel on Jordan's lap and he was rubbing her back and Gerald didn't like it could be true but it was how couldn't he have known. Jordan went to jail and then got out years later and came back.Gerald was a basketball super star and Angel was a ballet dance and they wasn't going to let that get in the way of what they loved to do.
